Free Kayaking with the Inwood Canoe Club The Inwood Canoe Club invites members of the public who can swim to join us for a guided, 20-25 minute kayak tour of the Hudson River just north of the George Washington Bridge. No prior experience is needed, and all equipment is provided. For more information, visit www.inwoodcanoenyc.org. Every Sunday through Labor Day weekend, 10am – noon; arrive between 9:30am and 11:15am to ensure you get a spot.

Summer Clean-Up & Planting in Ft. Tryon Park Want to help out in your neighborhood? Fort Tryon Park welcomes you! Assist the Fort Tryon Park Trust Friends Committee in park cleaning up, pruning and weeding. New York City schools require volunteer hours to graduate. Come get your hours while making the park a greener and cleaner place. Painting may be a project, wear or bring appropriate clothing. All tools supplied. Heavy rain cancels. Refreshments always served. Sign in at the Friends Committee table at the Margaret Corbin Circle entrance to the Heather Garden. (Take the A-Train to 190th Street station, elevator to the street, up the stairs, right turn to the Park, or take to M4 bus and, exit before entering the Park.) Sunday, August 17th, 10am – 2pm.

Jazz at the Mansion It’s that time of year again! Our annual free jazz performance with Marjorie Eliot is this weekend. Join Marjorie Eliot, the woman behind the legendary Harlem parlor concerts, and her impressive roster of very talented accompanists.
